Privacy policy
BadHop is made by Frazer Stockton ("I", "me"), who is the data controller for the information described here. If you have any questions, email admin@badhop.co.uk.
The BadHop application
BadHop collects nothing about you. Your targets, ping and traceroute results, captured packets and sessions are stored only on your own computer. The application connects only to the hosts you choose to monitor. It has no analytics, crash reporting, update checks or telemetry.
Your licence is verified on your own computer against a key built into BadHop. Neither your licence nor any identifier for your device is ever sent to me or anyone else.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the technical data every web request carries, such as your IP address, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
When you buy a licence
Purchases are handled by Paddle.com, which acts as the reseller and merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes your payment details and billing information under its own privacy policy. I never see or store your card details.
To issue your licence, Paddle passes me your name, email address, country and order details. I use these only to:
- create your licence and email it to you
- re-send it if you lose it
- answer your support requests
Licence emails are sent through [email provider to be confirmed]. I keep a record of each licence issued (the name, serial number, edition, expiry and order reference) for as long as the licence may need to be re-sent or supported. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
I don't sell your information, share it for marketing, or send marketing emails.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. Email admin@badhop.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
